Photo Gallery: More Glaciers, Fish Hatchery & Salmon Bake

Here are additional pictures of Alaskan glaciers as well as a few photos from the salmon hatchery and salmon bake. Our feature image above is the Mendenhall Glacier.

Salmon at this industrial hatchery are milked and then raised in special tanks.
Two of the four large holding tanks. As the fry grow they are moved from tank to tank.

The salmon bake was few blocks from the hatchery at an outdoor venue.
Besides salmon, rice and other side dishes were available at a self-serve buffet.
Everything was under tents, a good thing as it was raining when we got there.

And that’s it for our visit to the glaciers of Alaska. We did see some more inland, of course, but just in passing. The glaciers were quite the experience. Well worth seeing.
